Kuwait is all geared up for the national day and liberation day
celebration which fall on 25th and 26th February. 25th
February would be the 52 second anniversary of the
independence day from the British rule in state of Kuwait, while 26th
February signifies the liberation of Kuwait from gulf invasion of 1991 which
was led by Saddam Hussein. Every year Kuwait celebrate national day in February
with many recreational actives. These two days are holidays in Kuwait therefor,
most of the of the families try to take advantage of that and visit each other
on that day. However, some people prefer to stay at home and celebrate the
special occasion of national day at Kuwait with their family members. Maximum
crowds can be seen on the roads of the city with flags in their hands. People
go to a lot of places on these days and theses places are, the Messila beach,
parks, Green island. Public meetings and get together are organized in various
places. All the public buildings and famous spots of sightseeing in Kuwait are
decorated with lights. As the sets, the
sky is illuminated with varieties of fireworks. The appearance of the town is
like a typical British town with thousands of trees lining the streets with
beautiful big villas. Every year the festival of light takes place here to
commemorate the national and liberation day. Streets, parks, offices, trees,
churches, and houses are beautifully decorated with lights. Fireworks displays
takes place in the evening.
